Italy : Moncler’s quilted jackets at Cortina Winter Polo competi

Last week saw the Cortina Winter Polo On Snow competition being contested, and as each year it featured the participation of Polo’s most important teams.

A prestigious and charming backdrop contributed towards the birth of a new project between Moncler and the team at Hotel de la Poste, which since 1989 has always participated in the snow polo tournaments held at Cortina and which has won nine editions, with excellent ranking on the green pitches of the United Arab Emirates (1998) and Rome (2003).

Moncler contributed by providing quilted jackets for the entire team, in the form of the warm and classic Everest model for the men and the Badia model for the ladies. Both were personalised with the coat of arms of the Maniaco family which owns the Hotel De La Poste, embroidered in gold on both chest and back.

The choice of moncler jackets for women was far from coincidental, given the sporting and historical nature of both garments which are the natural development of the first quilted jacket to reach the summit of K2 with the Italian expedition in 1952.

The team commented: “…the Moncler jackets were essential for withstanding the low temperatures during the tournament at 1,800m above sea level. The finishing touches and lightness were outstanding… ”

This year, too, Hotel de la Poste won the Jaeger LeCoultre Gold Cup, once again signing the honours list of Cortina’s polo event.

Outdoor Brand Moncler women Collection will be reflecting on the origins of the legendary quilted jacket whilst managing to go beyond the needs of the moment.

It will be reinterpreting street style, bringing sport-chic up to date and aiming for a fashionable product whilst structuring the collection around the brand’s intrinsic experience, research and sporting nature.

The collection, divided into three key themes,
Archive – the originals.
Sport-chic – street style
Fashion – research

proposes jackets in a gutsy choice of materials and models, in brilliant new colours and combinations of contrasting lacquers.

The continuity of its genetic origins is reassuring, whilst the extent and reliability of the variations, emphasised by the painstaking attention to detail, make for a touch of innovation.

Everest: an evergreen in glossy English green lacquered nylon; the quilted moncler jacket for women par excellence with ton-sur-ton grass-green lining is fitted on the hips and has a flag macro-logo and hood zipped on the inside of the collar.

It will be available in new colour variations, taking it from 15 to 25, and with a variety of inside/outside combinations.

Armagnac: the classic Venise is party to an original reworking with tighter horizontal onion stitching.

It proudly shows off the sophisticated French humour of the jacket’s regimental style with dark blue and wagon green stripes.

It is both elegant and fun at the same time in glossy, lacquered nylon; ultra warm for wearing straight off the snowy pistes and into the icy-cold city.

Italy : Moncler & Alessandra for Gamme Rouge ‘le doudoune unique

A Collaboration requested specifically by Remo Ruffini, proprietor of Moncler, who thus continues on his worldwide project to give the quilted jacket a complete identity: at any time of day and for every occasion, morning, noon and night.

A complete pret-à-porter range that substitutes the co-branding initiated with Balenciaga, whilst the collaboration with Junya Watanabe continues for the men’s clothing.

The intention is precise and the tastes are well-defined: resplendent and luxurious, with jewelled details and the svelte modern style of the line. Gamme Rouge is the Moncler collection designed by Alessandra Facchinetti, which thus completes Moncler jackets for women range of proposals.

The collection is glamorous, starting with the colours: sophisticated white gold with touches of black, ice and fur in shades of pale gold. Neither trendy nor fashion-following, each garment has a story of its own and features elegant embroidering and details that go beyond all seasonal preconceptions.

The quilted jackets flaunt distinctive workmanship techniques such as raised padding, graduated circles made up of countless layers of organza, delicate plissé assemblages, quilted mink that recalls the impeccable taste of the Fifties and embroidery with irregular sequins delicately veiled with organza.

In this quest for perfection, even the brand name becomes a satin-effect gold brooch and the belt buckle a smooth Plexiglas monolith with a central pin. A small collection of costume jewellery, brooches, pendants and belts rounds off Gamme Rouge, providing an eccentric touch of elegance.

On 20 February at 18.00, Milan’s Palazzo Visconti will host a preview of Gamme Rouge “le Doudoune Unique”, with a selection of the most significant garments revealed to a selected audience of buyers and journalists for the very first time.

Moncler presents Men’s summer Collection 2007

Moncler presents a summer Collection which is increasingly complete and sophisticated to satisfy the very latest needs of the men. As always, the spirit of the Brand runs throughout: sport, experience and functionality.

The men’s Collection for summer 2007 maintains an appearance which is in line with the winter’s feather collection, presenting models that are recognisable in terms of structure and cut whilst re-proposing the strongest details of the quilted moncler jackets for women: models, pockets, large “coq” logos, hoods and finishing touches.

Coq is the name of the bomber for the warm weather season in waterproof Oxford green. It is a summery version of the legendary Bulgare, sporting in its cut which is short round the waist with an elasticated waistband and asymmetrical closure. The macro-logo on the sleeve recalls its origins from the Moncler archive, which as always aims to remind us of its roots whilst continuing to transform it.

Thus the quilted jacket remains; next up is the sporting Serin jacket in dark blue with lining in a contrasting sand colour.

It features a macro-logo on the front and is in shiny technical nylon, with a new ultra-light weight. The feather coefficient of 15 is 10 times lighter than the winter feather lining; its barely-there feather weight makes it extremely practical for keeping warm in springtime.

The Messanger, on the other hand, is a sand-colour parka which draws on the Sauterne’s stitching, double bottom pockets and tailoring, and has inherited its strong, unconventional character. It is a long jacket that has all the winning technical characteristics owing precisely to its double-facetted nature: designed for the cold, it is also perfect for the milder weather.

Thus versatility in substituting the winter quilted jacket with a range of garments that are one step ahead in terms of their usage potential is the order of the day.
